About The Central Library
The King George-V Institute of Agriculture was established in 1939 at Sakrand, District Nawabshah (now Shaheed Benazirabad), with the objective of promoting agricultural education and research in the region. The Institute's Library, an essential component of academic and research activities, was relocated to the Department of Horticulture at Sindh Agriculture College, Tandojam, in 1955 to better serve the growing academic community. Subsequently, the Library was shifted to its present building in 1962, providing enhanced facilities and resources for students, faculty, and researchers.
In recognition of its expanding academic programs and contributions to higher education, Sindh Agriculture College, Tandojam, was upgraded and granted university status on 1st March 1977, becoming Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. Since then, the Library has continued to play a vital role in supporting the University's teaching, learning, research, and extension activities.
The Central Library of Sindh Agriculture University plays a pivotal role in strengthening academic and research activities across the university. With its specialized collections in agricultural sciences and access to electronic information resources, it supports quality education and advanced study. Based in Tando Jam, the library provides a modern and resourceful environment for intellectual development.
